What you'll do


The Treasury Analyst is will assist in tasks relating to the daily cash positioning process for various business units while maintaining and recommending improvements to the Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC) enterprise-wide Treasury Management System (TMS).

You will seek to efficiently and accurately complete the daily cash positioning, be involved with In-House Banking process, and communicate within the team to optimally invest/borrow funds.


Cash Operations

  • Run daily cash positioning process and maintain nearterm forecast for assigned business lines
  • Update shortterm cash forecast, identify any material changes with actual trends, and analyze monthly variance between actual and cash forecast
  • Understand unique cash flows of each business unit and how operational changes affect the daily cash positioning
  • Prepare daily treasury payments and liaise with contacts at cash management banks to help manage and daytoday operational issues
  • Liaise with Banking partners as needed to help ensure payments are processed appropriately and to trace more time sensitive wires.
  • Understand and support initiatives to optimize the corporation's bank account structure, cash pooling arrangements, and other banking services
  • Manages the In-HouseBanking structure across the Canadian Retail entities.
  • Place daily investments and monitor compliance across the CTC, CTB, and CT REIT Financial Risk Management Board Policy and CTB's ALCO Guidelines.
  • Provide backup coverage for other team members
  • Continuously challenge the statusquo and system capabilities with a strong desire to identify areas for improved efficiencies
  • Support the Manager/AVP to lead identified opportunities to conclusion, adhoc analysis/documentation requests, and ongoing corporate initiatives.

Risk Management

  • Assist in the management and execution of the company's foreign exchange hedging programs
  • Assist in the management and execution of the company's daytoday foreign exchange cash requirements
  • Monitor macroeconomic developments, and provide analysis and recommendations to assist in mitigating the risks to the company that are derived from financial markets
  • Update foreign exchange exposure forecast, and identify any material changes
  • Liaise with bank trading partners for trade execution, settlement and any issues that arise during the trade cycle
  • Support the Treasury team for quarterend reporting requirements

What you bring

  • Able to work independently and cross functionally to drive problem resolution
  • Proven organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage complex data streams and integrate multiple inputs
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills
