Coordinator, EHS


The Coordinator, EHS position will be responsible for working with the Facility Management Team, the EHS Coordinator to establish, implement and maintain the company's Environmental, Health and Safety Management System, by auditing the effectiveness of the system and identifying areas for corrective action / opportunities for improvement.

The EHS Coordinator will support the achievement of the Company objectives related to Customer, Employee and Financial Satisfaction by carrying out the functions below as applicable.

Performance Expectations

  • Carry out action to meet the Stepping Stool Performance indicators.
  • Manage all phases of EHS Management Systems Audit Program (planning/auditing/closure).
  • Conduct analysis and prepare documentation to identify trends.
  • Present information to Facility Plant Operating Committee (POC) and other applicable parties to drive corrective and continuous improvement actions.
  • Assist in identifying the training requirements of all personnel as related to the effective implementation and operation of the Environmental, Health and Safety Management System.
  • Identify EHS issues and ensure and the progress to closure is documented utilizing the appropriate workplace tools.
  • With the Facility team, conduct regular EHS workplace inspections.
  • Review all incident reports and investigations to ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental external reporting requirements (NPRI/HWIN/ECA/TRA).
  • Participate and conduct compliance audits.
  • Facilitate actions in relation to the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • Coordinate/conduct EHS training.
  • Participate in seminars, courses, and other learning opportunities through the organization.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Credentials

  • Post-Secondary Education in Environmental/Health and Safety or related field.
  • Working knowledge of 18001 / 14001 Management Systems and internal auditing
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Able to work independently and within a Team, in order to provide professional and/or technical guidance in all areas of EHS.
  • Must be willing to learn new technologies, new products, new information and regulatory changes within industry.
