Qualifications Required and Preferred- Masters in Social Work

Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing.
Demonstrated knowledge of the OCSWSSW Standards of Practice and commitment to maintaining reflective practice standards as described by the College.
Demonstrates experience and knowledge in case management and discharge planning
35 years experience in a psychiatric/mental mental health setting or service.
Demonstrates knowledge of community services, including out patient supports and day treatment programs
Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
Sound knowledge of DSM-IV diagnoses, concurrent disorders and crisis intervention theory and techniques an asset.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated competence in performing, case management, clinical assessment and intervention and documentation of care.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical social/mental health work in the Adolescent field.
Thorough knowledge of social work treatment methods applied in mental health settings/community.
Knowledge and experience with the challenges involved in community reintegration of longerstay psychiatric inpatients.
Demonstrated competence in individual, group and family therapy.
Indepth practice of CBT and DBT an asset.
Demonstrated excellent organizational, problemsolving, decisionmaking, conflict resolution and critical thinking abilities.
Proven excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral/written communication skills.
The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is an asset.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the job.
Variable hours may be required due to patient demand.
