The Opportunity


The Instructional Liaison working with a cross-functional team is responsible for supporting the development of engaging interactive activities by using research, data, and educational standards to inform our high quality practice and design.


How you will make an impact

  • Work with a crossfunctional team to inform the creation of engaging, interactive, rigorous and relevant digital and broadcast content
  • Develop related learning goals aligned curriculum expectations for learning resources, materials and content
  • Analyse student feedback and course data to inform innovation of educational products
  • Research ongoing educational and educational technology trends, practices, and tools to ensure continuous improvement of Digital Learning products.
  • Research current educational standards and their relationship to Digital Learning practices and standards.
  • Inform and review the creation of resource content and related documentation. Including but not limited to games, storyline, mockups, and wireframes. Provision of curricular and pedagogical guidance will be part of this process.
  • Assess current TVO content according to TVO's criteria for alignment; rigour, complexity and engagement, content priorities, and user experience
  • Ensure that Ministry of Education priorities such as assessments for and of learning are meaningful, appropriate, and authentic
  • Support contractforservice teachers in the writing of new learning content
  • Align pedagogy with active learning and plan for resource interactivity
  • Accountable for content quality, ensuring that final products reflect the excellence expected in Ontario's educational landscape
  • Support testing of educational content in the classroom and online

What you will bring to TVO

  • Bachelor of Education
  • Member of the Ontario College of Teachers
  • 5+ years of teaching or teaching support experience in Kindergarten to Grade 1 Additional education or training in a related field
  • Understanding of how to develop engaging and supportive learning materials and assessments
  • Experience supporting educator professional learning in an educational setting
  • Experience designing accessible and engaging educational content for online learners
  • Experience with projects where digital assets were created
  • Excellent abilities with Office 365 including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong time management, analytical and interpersonal skills required, along with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent grammar, verbal and written communication skills
  • Educational content review qualifications (ISTE, Quality Matters) an asset
  • Math Specialist or Reading Specialist an asset
