- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to conceptualize, design and develop sheet metal assemblies;
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar tools;
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing requirements;
- Perform design analyses to optimize designs in terms of cost, manufacturability and performance;
- Generate bills of materials and purchase requisitions for procurement;
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to provide support during manufacturing and installation processes;
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback;
- Participate in continuous improvement in the department.
- Bachelor's degree or technical degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a draftsman/sheet metal designer or in a similar role in sheet metal product manufacturing.
- Proficient in CAD/CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques, materials and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Knowledge of refrigeration (asset)
- Experience in CNC machine programming (asset)
- Knowledge of metric and imperial measurement systems;
- Good learning ability;
- Demonstrate diligence and punctuality;
- Available to work overtime.
