Role Summary:_


The Chubb Fire & Security BC Branch is currently recruiting for an Inventory Control professional / Storekeeper to complete inventory of, order, receive, ship and release inventory goods in a timely manner for all BC Branches.

Duties are to be performed in accordance with scheduled installation dates, mandated technician vehicle stock levels, and established procedural and documentation requirements.

This role will be based out of the Burnaby branch office. This is a Unionized role and successful membership to the Local IBEW 213 will be required. It is a great position for those who enjoy autonomy and managing themselves in a team atmosphere.

Key Job Responsibilities:_

  • Receive equipment and parts ordered for pickup or delivery, and release to corresponding sales orders where applicable.
  • Ensure coordination of all sales orders within the relevant inventory management system(s).
  • Replace all defective equipment and prepare them for repair where feasible.
  • Maintain required levels of inventory by removing or discarding surplus and obsolete equipment and parts.
  • Ensure all documentation related to receiving, storage, transfers and shipping is complete and submitted where required.
  • Participate in the performance and completion of physical inventory counts.
  • Maintain company equipment in good working order and promote a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
  • Update and maintain MSDSs along with being responsible for disposal of waste as per EH&S policies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Branch Manager or the Operations Manager.

Qualifications:_

  • Able to perform repetitive lifting
  • Previous experience with materials handling preferred
  • Capable of Lifting 50Lbs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet quality standards
  • Demonstrated initiative, with a good team player attitude
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Educational /Technical Requirements_

  • Post-Secondary education in supply chain management or a related discipline preferred.
  • WHMIS training an asset
  • A valid BC Driver's license is preferred but not required.
