Description

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that quality standards and procedures meet customer specifications (both internal and external) at each stage of the manufacturing process.

Position requires a high level of attention to detail.

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for gathering, organizing, maintaining and reporting on all data, as it relates to quality control and identifies defects and or production errors during the physical inspection process.

They will be required to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.


Job Duties

  • Inspect and test both work in progress and completed product to ensure product is free from defects and is manufactured to customer requirements and Titan's quality standard.
  • Read and interpret blueprints / drawings to verify alignment and dimensions of products.
  • Assist in maintenance of calibration system, ensuring all equipment is within its calibration period.
  • Ensure all incidents of nonconformances are recorded
  • Tags defective material and disposition nonconforming material.
  • Maintain records of inspection data, including the results of tests.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem resolution.
  • Manage manufacturing master drawings to ensure build standard control is maintained on assigned projects
  • Ability to conduct audits
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Other assigned work / General labour as required.
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization.
  • Maintain safe work practices and ensure proper PPE is being used at all times.

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Previous Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
  • Experience in MIG welding an asset
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints required
  • Problemsolving skills
  • Ability to read tape measure, calipers, micrometers and other quality equipment.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Willing to work overtime as required
  • Must own reliable transportation and hold a valid driver's license

Work Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Travel to offsite locations may be required.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steeltoed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles,
  • Extremely busy environment must be able to work with mínimal supervision
  • Hazards associated with the trade: (heat, burns, working in tight spaces)
  • Overtime as required

Regular hours are 6:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00 am to 12 noon on Friday
