Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Transporting refrigerated food products and cargo to and from specified locations as instructed by company dispatchers.
- Strategically planning travel routes to ensure that all deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
- Reviewing dispatchers' instructions before deliveries to prevent any errors or miscommunications.
- Performing inspections of the designated truck before and after each delivery to ensure that it is mechanically sound.
- Promptly informing management of any mechanical issues that render the designated truck unroadworthy.
- Maintaining a logbook with an accurate account of the number of hours worked, rest periods, and mileage covered.
- Submitting cargo documents to customers and obtaining customer signatures to confirm receipt of the correct cargo.
- Notifying dispatch of any damaged cargo.
- Supervising the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
- Responsible for providing service to our company 5 days a week/replacement trucks are necessary.
Payment Terms:
- Average pay is $56/hour (combination of hourly and % of load)
- Average work week is 4560 hours.
- Schedule is primarily 6AM 4PM, Monday
- Friday (with occasional weekends)
- Truck is for sale, cost is negotiable.
- 2005 Kenworth T300 Tandem Axle
- Odometer reading: 750,000 KM.
- Lease to own is an option.
- Fair terms and we will work with an individual's financial requirements to ensure a successful tenure with us.
- Driver is responsible for the following:
- Fuel
- Auto and Workers' Comp Insurance
- Motor Vehicle Registration
- We will cover the Cargo Insurance
- Operate under out NSC
Qualifications**:
- 2 years minimum commercial driving experience, preferably in the Greater Vancouver area.
- Completion of a tractortrailer driver training program in encouraged.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations, loading and unloading procedures, as well as weight restrictions.
- Experience and responsibility for truck maintenance.
- The ability to utilize GPS systems, road maps, and routing software.
- The ability to concentrate for extended periods.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication skills including strong spoken and written English.
- Positive attitude and team player.
