Position Summary:


Plan, develop and implement administrative processes related to myProgress, McGill's web-based progress tracking tool, and myThesis, McGill's thesis examination management system.

Provide efficient and effective support to the integration of myThesis with myProgress. Develop and update training materials. Provide guidance to the community about myProgress and myThesis processes. Review weekly reports, determine follow-up action and communicate with units as necessary. Answer inquiries related to myProgress and myThesis.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer the integration of myThesis with myProgress. Act as resource person for users (students, supervisors, units, examiners). Collect user feedback. Liaise with IT to improve user experience.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries. Provide advice regarding policies and procedures. Assess and resolve problems related to myProgress and myThesis. When appropriate, inform supervisor and formulate recommendations.
  • Establish and foster effective working relationships with stakeholders on campus by identifying needs and providing support during the integration of myThesis with myProgress.
  • Develop training materials. Update, prepare and coordinate publication of documents such as guidelines, website content, and howto videos.
  • Maintain and update documentation. Act as resource person on the use of myProgress and myThesis.
  • Compile statistics and produce weekly reports. Monitor optimal use of both platforms. Identify patterns that warrant action and develop a targeted followup plan. Analyze issues and follow up with Units as necessary. Cascade technical issues to IT.
  • Undertake special projects.

  • Able to establish and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the University
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment with changing priorities.
  • Must be tech savvy and proficient in Excel with strong MS Office skills, including presentation software
