The position is part of the company's digital transformation and plays an important role in the objective of having a better visibility on signed contracts and improving internal processes.


Based in Montréal (preferred) and part of the Department of Legal Affairs, the person will contribute to the day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of a contract management solution within the company and provide process and technical assistance to business partners throughout the contractual life cycle.


Responsibilities
On a daily basis, the person will support the users in the contracting process.


The person will have to:

  • Fully understand the functionalities of the selected contract management software in order to be able to provide support to all users;
  • Work with the internal teams to ensure a clear understanding of the software functionalities and the deliverables;
  • Provide ongoing training and support to new users of the platform;
  • Manage the contract management software, including providing the appropriate user access;
  • Follow up with the software provider to ensure an efficient implementation;
  • Support other members of the Legal Department in the review of contracts and other relevant documents;
  • Support various internal teams in the negotiation of contracts and other related contractual documents necessary for the operation of the business.
  • Liaise and coordinate between the Legal Department and all the other teams to ensure that identified commercial risks are understood and addressed;
  • Track and obtain required signatures and file the signed contracts;
  • Perform all related tasks.


The selected applicant shall demonstrate an interest in new technologies, enabling him/her to be a super-user of the selected contract management platform.


In this role, he/she will:

  • Use the contract management platform on a daily basis to, among other things, open client files, produce contract summaries and quickly retrieve requested documents;
  • Support and ensure the achievement of the contract management platform usage objectives;
  • Communicate with internal teams to ensure compliance with all contracts and company policies;
  • Be in charge of and support all employees to follow the processes and comply with policies and internal approval procedures;
  • Make recommendations and provide solutions to issues that may arise between parties involved in the contracting process;
  • Produce reports as requested by the management team;
  • Ensure the completion of the platform updates and perform the necessary tests with the supplier;
  • Perform any other related tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal or legal degree or a combination of other degrees and relevant experience
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in an inhouse legal department, in contract administration and contract management, or other relevant experience
  • Processoriented person;
  • Good business acumen;
  • Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and sense of responsibility;
  • Demonstrate initiative and leadership;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and execute tasks within a short time frame;
  • Bilingual: French and English;
  • Has experience using the MS Office suite, any related software and new technologies in general.
