Analyst, Hotels


Are you interested in real estate and looking for a career with broad exposure to all facets of the business, including asset strategy, investments, and operations? Do you want to be part of a high performing and entrepreneurial team within a global organization? Oxford's Hotel Asset Management team is seeking an Analyst to join our platform based in Toronto.

The Analyst is an integral part of a strategic & purposeful team, focused on supporting and leading initiatives to maximize asset values and drive total returns.

The Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical support and will gain cross-functional exposure to the organization and asset management, including underwriting investments in existing assets and potential acquisitions, developing strategic asset plans, partner communication, performance management & optimization, and asset valuations.


Oxford owns and asset manages one of the most exceptional hotel portfolios in the country, including four "crown-jewel" Fairmont resorts in Western Canada, the recently redeveloped Park Hyatt Toronto in Yorkville, and the InterContinental Toronto Centre.


As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing hotel operating performance, identifying drivers of material variances in performance, and investigating operating trends to highlight opportunities for future improvement
Owning the analysis and underwriting of value creation (ROI) projects, including capital investments and cost containment initiatives. The Analyst is responsible for the monitoring & tracking ROI projects, investment modeling, and preparation of investment memos
Developing, executing, and maintaining strategic asset plans through collaboration with other members of the team and the broader organization
Supporting investment due diligence and documentation on equity investments with the potential for exposure to a growing hotel credit book
Leading and preparing annual asset valuations with support from Oxford's Portfolio Management & Valuations team
Supporting the annual operating budget process including revenue and expense reviews, collaboration with external stakeholders, and presentation to co-owners
Enhancing Oxford's relationship with co-owners and brand partners through improved reporting, process optimization, and effective communication
Supporting hotel asset management initiatives such as retail leasing, labour management studies, and energy procurement
Collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders including Accounting, Legal, Development, Retail Leasing, and Investments as required for specific tasks and projects
Building & maintaining strong relationships with external groups including co-owners, hotel operators and executive teams, the brokerage and real estate advisory community, and other key industry partners

Ideal Experience
A positive attitude and desire to learn about real estate, asset management, and Oxford
Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or Hotel Management.
Proven analytical skills and financial acumen, highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong communication skills to support high quality reporting, effective project execution, and to drive alignment with partners and co-owners
Understanding of real estate investment fundamentals and underwriting
A self-starter with a keen attention to detail who can think critically, work independently, and manage competing priorities
Some travel required. A valid passport with ability to travel internationally.
