Warehouse Receiver

Schedule:
Monday to Friday (day shift)

Position Overview:
Receivers are responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to receiving. They will operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner.

Receivers must maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for receiving all products entering the store including verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity, and checking product temperatures as needed.

They must initial and code invoices, log invoices, and distribute to appropriate departments. Receivers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the receiving area including loading dock and trash areas.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Follows HACCP receiving procedures.
  • Adheres to safe work practices.
  • Operates forklift, power jacks & pallet jacks.
  • Unload items for receiving.
  • Assists in loading of the aging cooler.
  • Organize dry stock storage and spice segregation area.
  • Paperwork for PO's and In-Transit handed in once completed.
  • Receiving Log is completed and submitted daily to HACCP.
  • Assists in loading and unloading of defrost rooms.
  • Organization and cleanliness of the receiving area;
  • All received products are removed from the receiving area at the end of the day.
  • Plan and execute production to fulfill all regulatory as well as SQF requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school or GED equivalent (preferred)
  • Skills and Knowledge Required for Duties:
  • Oral communication; Working with others; Decision making;
  • Critical thinking; Job task planning and organizing;
  • Continuous learning.
  • Forklift and scissor lift certificate is an asset.
  • Experience is an asset.

Physical Demands:

  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Repetitive tasks.
  • Physically demanding;
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Combination of sitting/standing/walking.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Bending/crouching/kneeling.

Work Conditions:

  • 40 hours per week (8 hours per day). Attention to detail. Noise, odors, cold (refrigeration and freezer). Maintain a safe work environment.
