Used by banks, credit unions, money services businesses (MSBs), casinos and fintechs to comply with global anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, Alessa also serves organizations in the retail, healthcare, insurance, and other corporate sectors with its continuous controls monitoring and fraud detection and prevention capabilities.

Alessa was acquired from Caseware in 2021 and has 75 people supporting 150 global customers. Alessa's investors are led by Wavecrest Growth Partners with participation from MassMutual Ventures and Salesforce Ventures.


Alessa is currently seeking an
IT Administrator to join their team in a role that will have responsibility for Alessa's corporate IT assets and providing IT support to Alessa employees.

This includes the day-to-day system and user support, maintenance and integrity of hardware, software, and vendors.

This role will also need to be forward thinking with the desire to learn and continuously improve the corporate IT landscape.


This role is a hybrid role located in Ottawa, Ontario.

Responsibilities:


  • Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Alessa's endpoint operating systems, software, and hardware.
  • Manage and track computer inventory, assets, and user accountability, including deployment and return of IT equipment to all userassigned equipment.
  • User account management including creation, maintenance of user accounts and permissions, ensuring network security protocol and compliance is adhered to.
  • Maintain passwords, data integrity and file system security.
  • Manage employee IT offboarding of employees, ensuring all access is disabled in accordance with IT protocol.
  • Monitor corporate environments and respond to outages and issues as required, ensuring necessary backup plans are in place and adhered to.
  • Manage Alessa's Office 365 environment including Azure AD, Exchange online and SharePoint online.
  • Perform systems maintenance including system backup, recovery, and file maintenance.
  • Schedule, install, and test system software upgrades.
  • Configure software and work closely with the IT Team to resolve technical problems.
  • Participate in and take ownership of IT projects and initiatives as required.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience, in an IT support role, ideally in a SaaS software company.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, switches, and VPN.
  • Knowledge of hardware/software troubleshooting tools and techniques
  • Experience with any of the following: Windows Defender, Zoom, 1Password, Freshservice, Spiceworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure AD, especially Intune would be highly desirable.
  • Scripting ability using PowerShell and/or Python would be helpful.
  • Experience or interest in IT security would be helpful.
  • Customer focus with strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical individuals.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with solid experience of taking ownership of complex issues and bringing to resolution.
  • Selfstarter with a "cloudfirst mentality" who is not afraid to try new things and thrives in a fastpaced, everchanging environment.
  • Experience in a small company/start up environment is highly desirable.
  • Curious nature with approach of continually looking for ways to do things better.
  • Desire to learn and grow with ability and interest in taking ownership of IT projects.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
