Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, F&B Outlet or the Assistant Manager, this position is responsible for serving the guests beverages with the strictest regard to rules, regulations and outlet operational guidelines while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Greets guests by name wherever possible
- Informs guests of any daily specials
- Explains how various beverages are prepared
- Takes guest orders and makes recommendations
- Prepares beverages
- Serves guests and checks to ensure satisfaction
- Resolves guests issues or asks management for assistance
- Presents bill upon request and takes payment in the absence of a cashier
- Cleans tables or counters, removes glasses and restocks when applicable
- Delivers beverages to hotel rooms as directed when applicable and obtains signature and removes used trays
- Performs opening or closing duties as required
- Counts cash float at end of shift (if applicable)
- Covers other bartender sections when required
- Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages according to SIR, Smart Serve or IGB
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
- High School Diploma; Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education an asset; Bartending certificate an asset
- Minimum 1 year bartending experience
- POS experience
- Serving it Right Certification
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
Work Environment Considerations
- Regular casino, restaurant or bar environment, standing and walking for long periods of time and nontraditional work hours
