Overview


Reporting to the Vice President, Global, the Global Teaching and Learning Specialist, is a member of the Robertson Global and Teaching and Learning teams.

They are responsible for Teaching and Learning functions that support instructors and students at Robertson Global.


Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning:


  • Works with the Teaching and Learning, Product, and Global teams to ensure the successful implementation of new programs and revision of existing programs.
  • Investigates and makes recommendations to the Manager, Teaching and Learning on issues related to instructional approach, academic support, attendance and retention.
  • Creates and manages content in the Global Instructor Training Course
  • Supports the hiring process for faculty; and assists with onboarding and orientation for new instructors.
  • Attends Global instructor meetings and provides information or guidance where necessary.
  • Supports instructors to provide guidance to students with academic needs.
  • Implements academic policies, procedures and processes in accordance with Teaching and Learning standards.
  • Works with the student support and student academic teams to identify areas of continued instructional improvement.
  • Assists with implementation of Instructor Accountability Framework including instructor observations to support instructors with meeting expectations and developing instructional competencies
  • Troubleshoots and helps to solve technical issues in the digital learning environment for instructors and send updates to LMS administrators and relevant team members.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of all instructional training and professional development opportunities at Robertson Global.
  • Facilitates instructor Professional Improvement Plans and recommends additional training and resources to instructors that are struggling.
  • Monitors and follows up with instructors as needed on attendance and make up time policies and procedures.
  • Consults on the development of policies and procedures as required.

Partnership Teaching and Learning Needs

  • Attends all meetings about program development and execution, revisions, site visits, and quality assurance.
  • Assists the Teaching and Learning team with facilitating the development of new programs as well as revisions to existing programs in the Brightspace platform.
  • Is responsible for the monthly task of auditing all of the course outlines and works with the Lead of Operations to ensure they are sent to ACC in a timely manner
  • Is responsible for pulling and reviewing all required information for ACC's quarterly visits and annual Quality Assurance reviews.
  • Is responsible for conducting instructor in classroom observations in accordance with ACC standards. Will observe and provide feedback and training where necessary.

College, Division, and Program Activities
Attend faculty/staff meetings and training sessions.

Participate proactively in performance appraisals.

Support active interdepartmental cooperation with other departments such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Practicum and Career Services.

Perform other duties/participate in special projects as assigned.


Preferred Requirements
Degree or diploma in education or a combination of adult education certification and teaching experience

Five years of experience in training and teaching.


Strong communication and customer services skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with students and team members.

Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Highly self-motivated and self-directed; objective-oriented with a high-level attention to detail.

Knowledge and experience with course development software and Learning Management Systems (D2L pre
