Retail IT Manager - Toronto, Canada - Tokyo Smoke

Store Systems & Projects
- Manage and maintain POS systems and any related inventory management systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with retail technology solutions
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards
- Develop and implement technology strategies that improve operational efficiencies and customer experience
- Train central support team members on the use of technology solutions and provide ongoing support
- Research and evaluate new technology solutions and make recommendations to senior management
- Ensure stores are PCI compliant through technology and by implementing and maintaining required SOPs
- Oversee database management for all store sales, inventory and other required data
- Develop asset tracking database and process for maintenance
- Lead hardware refresh initiatives, including forecasting required hardware upgrades, setting annual budgets and developing project plans for procurement, deployment and implementation
- Support the integration of tools that help drive retail success such as loyalty programs, gift cards, etc.
- Lead local work to improve IT and system security, collaborating with the corporate IT team
- Collaborate with the BI Team in the management of the local data management strategy, including management of incoming data, data retention and security, data quality, etc.
Acquisitions
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions during acquisitions
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all IT acquisitions, coordinating with Corporate IT and other IT teams to integrate new systems and technologies
- Assist with technology due diligence during acquisitions
- Manage technology integrations during acquisitions
- Identify and address any technologyrelated risks associated with acquisitions
- Play a supportive role in the process to scope IT requirements for ecommerce platforms; ensures seamless integration within the retail technology solution infrastructure
Store Support
- Oversee IT store support for all corporate stores and subscribed franchise locations
- Lead IT Technicians in providing top tier support and service to store teams
- Provide technical expertise and support for our front of store and back of store IT environment, including hardware and software systems.
- Develop and maintain relationships with thirdparty vendors and contractors to ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems
- Conduct regular system audits to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance system performance
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify business needs and develop technical solutions to meet those needs
- Analyze data to provide insights that drive business decisions, such as identifying trends and opportunities for process improvement
- Develop and maintain documentation of IT systems and processes
- Stay uptodate with emerging trends and technologies in the retail and cannabis industries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in retail IT, including experience with front of store and back of store systems
- Demonstrated experience in Retail Systems Technology, including POS and Inventory systems and Acquisitions
- Experience leading a team of direct reports, coaching and people development
- Strong analytical skills and experience analyzing data to provide insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and contracts.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with the cannabis industry is a plus.
