Position Summary:


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Conduct site inspections and fieldwork assessments (pre and post development construction)
  • Investigate and track complaints on project and construction related activities
  • Create/update CAD drawing for City Standards
  • Perform calculations and queries in a spreadsheet and database environment
  • Assist in the research of emerging trends and industry practices associated with highrise construction and sustainable land development
  • Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects
  • Other administrative duties as required

Education and Experience:

Enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technology program or a related discipline


Required Skills/Knowledge:


  • Basic knowledge of municipal engineering design principles and construction methods
  • Ability to analyze and read municipal engineering drawings with a good understanding of municipal infrastructure (i.e.; watermain, wastewater, storm sewer, roads, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an interactive team environment
  • You demonstrate Richmond Hill's corporate values of care, collaboration, courage and service
  • Possess a valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and have access to a vehicle for use on corporate business (mileage compensated)
  • You will be required to provide proof of vehicle insurance upon hire
  • Possess your own CSA certified steel toe safety boots for fieldwork
