Forklift Operator / Material handler

Job type and term:
Full time and permanent

Work schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7am to 3h30pm

Salary:
$20.00/hour

Vacation / paid leave: 4% (2 weeks' vacation), 2 personal days

Other paid leave: 2 days during the Holiday Season

Role and responsibilities
According to production needs, the
forklift driver /material handler performs a variety of tasks to support the operation/production, as follows:

Operate production equipment
Loading and unloading trucks using counter balancer lift or manual equipment
Staging freight in double deep racking using the Reach truck
Unitize loads at end of machine
Order Picking
Preparing expediting paperwork.
Inventory Control, System updates, Cycle counts and use of mobile bar code scanners
Bale scrap / sweep / housekeeping / keep a clean and safe working area
Palletize / Unitize product
Complete Quality reports and all other required documentation
Perform all other tasks assigned by supervisor

Required skills and abilities

3 years' experience with Propane counterbalance forklift and reach truck
Valid forklift license necessary
Must practice safe work ethics
Able to perform basic measurement in Metric/Imperial and conversion capabilities
Must be able to work well under pressure and work in a fastpaced environment
Must be organized, detail and quality oriented
Have a positive, engaged contributor style attitude

Other requirements
The position requires continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside, work around machinery.
