Before and After School Program

Hours:
Split Shift 7-9:30 am 3:30-5:15 pm Monday - Friday

As a leader in child care in the Brockville and surrounding area, we are responsible for the care of over 40 children during the day, plus an after-school program of over 20 children. Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for providing care and education to children 4-12 years of age in a group setting which meets the standards of the Early Years Act, Code of Ethics and the Policies and procedures of the St John Bosco Children's Centre.

Programming, planning, and facilitating a balance of appropriate activities
Guiding children's behaviour through discussion and logical sequences
Communicating with parents on an ongoing basis, regarding progress of child development and areas of concern in the children's behaviour, activities, and any physical concerns

Key Competencies:

Great interpersonal and relationship building skills with children, parents and coworkers
Team player, great work ethic
Creative, takes initiative, plans ahead
Comfortable handling stressful situations and problem solving as situations arise
Demonstrated computer literacy and comfort with technology (specifically Lilio app)

Qualifications:

College Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker (CYW) or equivalent
Current unrestricted Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
Experience in a A KINDERGARTEN program would be beneficial
Up to date Standard First Aid CPR Level C
Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen
Up to date vaccinations and immunizations as per local health unit guidelines
