Bilingual Order Desk Associate - Ottawa, Canada - Euro Tile & Stone
Description
We are looking to hire a
Bilingual Order Desk Associate. This position, part of the Order Desk team, is focused on our contractor and trade clients.
This individual is someone who takes interest in the construction industry and enjoys working with contractors and other trade professionals.
You will be responsible to ensure orders are processed accurately and quickly as per the client or as directed by the Sales Representatives.
What you will be doing
- Provide superior customer service and experience as a first point of contact and provide general information to staff, clients, and the public relating to their questions, concerns, or suggestions
- Be the goto resource for, and have a focus on cross selling, installation and technical products, tools and accessories
- Liaise and consult with contractors, industry professionals, and DIY clients.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries regarding the status of orders and any payment, and refund errors in a timely manner
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
- Analyze problems and make recommendations as to root causes and corrective actions
- Answer telephone and electronic inquiries and relay telephone calls and messages
- Develop and build relationships with new accounts and develop additional contacts within existing accounts
- Ensure followup by passing leads to Sales Representatives
- Monitors all incoming requests to ensure they are being addressed in a timely fashion; coordinates the timely response to client orders and tracks orders from start to finish
- Process and enter invoices for payment, match invoices with purchase orders, and check for accuracy
- Special order and Backorder fulfilment, including storing items and following up with customers
- Verify the availability of stock prior to placing order
- Works closely with Outside Sales, Showroom, Shipping/Receiving, and Warehouse staff to coordinate delivery of product and keeps clients up to date
- Ensure the Pro Centre is fully stocked
- Monitor reorder points and communicate to the purchasing team if adjustments are needed.
What you will bring
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- One year of experience in the construction industry (nice to have)
- One year of customer service experience
- Ability to quickly pick up new product and service knowledge, and communicate that knowledge effectively to customers
- Punctual
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Able to use technology (ERP, Microsoft Office). We'll train you on our systems in your first week
- Proactive problem solver. That also means identifying potential problems and taking care of them before they might escalate
- Bilingual
