We are currently seeking Facility Services and Maintenance Manager to be primarily responsible for maintaining the condition and leasing value of approximately 1900 rental residential units and 30 rental commercial units of Thorwin Properties and its offices.

The incumbent will manage the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the property's facilities and utilities such as structures, HVAC, plumbing, appliances, landscaping, and energy management.


The essential duties include but not limited to:
Facility Services

  • Responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of 10 staff including maintenance, grounds, and multiple vendors.
  • Work on prioritizing service call and distribution of call through our list of vendors.
  • Work with admin team to create work orders.
  • Make regular inspections of the property and identify problem areas for improvement.
  • Work with property managers to keep properties in tiptop condition.
  • Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Prepare or oversee preparation of statistics and reports.
Building Maintenance

  • Ensures the energy efficiency of the building and that basic facilities such as water, heating and air conditioning are working properly and well maintained.
  • Direct the maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and airconditioning system of the building.
  • Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Plan and manage the facility services and maintenance budget.
  • Administer contracts for the provision of supplies and services. Manage inventories and logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and environmental and safety standards.
  • Keep proper records of all maintenance activities and provide reports as requested.

Qualifications:


Education & Experience:


  • Postsecondary education in electrical or mechanical engineering or in another discipline related to building maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in building maintenance.
  • 5+ year experience in managerial role in facility operations and/or building maintenance.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • Excellent organization, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to handle varied and complex workload.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams and projects and work well with a team.
  • Good knowledge of building, safety and security acts and legislation
  • Budget and financial management skills
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management software
Other

  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle required.
