We are currently looking for a Vice President Operations, Nissan Canada Finance to join our team in Mississauga, ON.

Key member of the Senior Leadership team at NCF this role is responsible for management and day-to-day direction for the NCF Operations team (Funding; Credit; Customer Service, Collections and Wholesale Finance.


Job functions Include but are not limited to:
Responsible for leading and monitoring each department's activities, operational results and training activities.

Examples in Credit and Funding include ensuring quality and speed of credit decisions and contracts are funded promptly and accurately.

In Customer Service/collections, monitor to ensure targets are met related to delinquency control, credit losses, insurance follow-up and customer/dealer satisfaction.

Ensure that people are properly trained to reach their potential. Collaborate with Business Systems, Risk and IS to ensure that processes and tools are adequate to achieve targets.
Focus on Customer, Dealer and Employee Satisfaction. Actively monitor engagement and develop and enact strategies that balance satisfaction with overall business results. Actively engage with industry peers and experts to benchmark and assist in developing NCF Strategic direction.

This can be accomplished through dealer contacts/visits, industry roundtables and individual meetings to keep on top of industry issues and dealer business.

Identify and resolve any dealer problems expeditiously.
Maximize resources to achieve targets.

This includes but is not limited to allocation of personnel in each department including full-time, contracts and employees at NRFM.

Assist in preparation and overall management of budgets for NCF.

Ensure budgets of each department reflect an accurate assessment of what is needed to allow the department to attain its targets.

Monitor variances and institute corrective action.
Delegate for the President/Managing Director during absence due to extended travel, illness or vacation.


Minimum Qualifications:


Knowledge:

A university degree (finance, economics, administration, or related discipline) and 15 years of experience in automotive financing including retail and wholesale leasing, retail financing, wholesale floor plan and credits.

Must have a minimum of 5 years directly managing people as well as budgeting experience.

Proficiency in various consumer and commercial statutes across Canada governing automotive finance, as well as credit/discounting/collections systems knowledge is preferred.

Also requires a broad knowledge of NCF's products and services, policies and procedures, and major competitors' activities. Broad automotive finance industry experience and leadership skills are required.


Interpersonal Skills:
Interacts with a variety of internal and external contacts. Speaks on behalf of NCF with a variety of people (dealers, staff).

Motivates and persuades dealers and staff on a variety of matters (targets, policies and procedures), and applies conflict resolution skills daily in dealing with dealer problems/complaints, staffing and operational issues.

Effective listening, counselling, negotiation, and diplomacy are required when dealing with dealer problems. Communicating complex issues is involved when dealing with confidential operational and people issues. Presentation and facilitation skills are necessary in meetings or making proposals.


Complexity and Problem Solving:

The position is about solving problems and removing barriers for dealers and staff to maximise their potential and meet targets.


Sensory and Physical Demands:

Considerable time is spent concentrating on analysing reports/data and industry papers (often while using a computer), reviewing/approving credit decisions, and answering dealer and staff inquiries.


Decision-Making/Impact of the Position:

Decisions are made based on approved guidelines for the position, including utilising approved budgets as seen necessary, rewarding employees for performance, disciplining when appropriate, and allocating resources where required.


People Management:
Direct Reports - 5 Managers; Indirect Reports Supervisors, Analysts and Representatives level roles for Credit, funding, Collections, Customer Service; Account Services, Wholesale Financing and Lease Customer Network ( >100 in total)


All typical people management responsibilities including establishing direction and setting goals, obtaining buy-in, completing performance reviews, developing employees, answering questions, day-to-day coaching and mentoring, leading by example, rewarding, delegating tasks, etc.
