Intent of the process:


The intent of this process is to fill one (1) position of approximately one (1) year with a possibility of extension and/or permament appointment.

This position is located at the Sorel Canadian Coast Guard base.

ED :

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the position.

EXPERIENCES


EX1 :
Experience in general upkeep and/or maintenance of institutional and/or industrial and/or commercial assets and/or an equivalent field.

EX2 :
Experience in the use of materials and equipment used in property maintenance.

EX3 :
Experience using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

ED :

Post-secondary diploma in a field related to the position to be filled (plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, stationary machinery mechanic, etc.).

Degree equivalency


EXPERIENCE
A
EX1 :
Experience in the use of building mechanics systems.

AEX2 :
Experience in using and reading building plans.

AEX3 :
Experience in participating in inspections and maintaining follow-up records.


OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Willing to work out of doors including work in inclement weather and cold, wet or hot environments.
  • Willing to work in confined spaces and areas requiring fall protection equipment.

Conditions of employment:

Reliability Status security clearance


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Possession of a valid class 5 or better driver's license.
  • Physically capable of climbing up and down ladders and in and out of confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift or move heavy objects up to 25 kg while practicing proper safety procedures.
  • Willingness to travel with ministry vehicles occasionally.
