***As a member of the Sales and Marketing department, the Technical Sales Analyst is responsible for New Flyer's timely and strategic response to customer procurement requests. In addition, this role is also responsible for preparing and coordinating inputs to New Flyer's proposals in response to sales opportunities, liaise with customers during the proposal preparation stage, and coordinate with departments to collect the business requirements of proposals.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:


  • Reviews detailed customer specifications and work with Regional Sales Managers to obtain customer needs and requirements.
  • Reviews specification gaps and cost place holders in Bid Bill of Materials and works with other functional teams to develop solutions for gaps and customer needs.
  • Monitors, coordinates, and prepares bid or proposal package elements including costing with cross functional teams and ensures that the proposal is submitted within established timelines.
  • Works with Technical Sales Manager and Business Segment Director to develop final pricing recommendation and obtains margin projections and approvals in accordance with company policy.
  • Organizes and chairs pricing meetings as required alongside the Technical Sales Manager.
  • Prepares all contract changes after initial bid submission including the submission of a Best and Final Offer (BAFO), if necessary and ensuring that Bid Bill of Materials contains the latest information.
  • Participates in Pre-Production meetings as necessary.
  • Maintains the sales funnel, Customer Relationship Management database and supporting documentation as necessary, including sales transaction reports.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • University degree in business or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Formal knowledge of Bids/Tenders or Technical writing process is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of business financials and contractual terms and conditions is an asset.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Motivated selfstarter with the ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
