We are currently looking for an
Executive Assistant to join our ECEI team in a
Permanent position. Reporting to the Chief Clean Energy Officer, you will be responsible for providing professional administrative support to the CCEO of the Eastern Clean Energy Initiative in a fast paced, demanding environment.

They maintain a positive relationship with internal and external customers and other stakeholders while also drafting business correspondence, managing inquiries and requests, undertaking research, and planning and executing internal and external meetings, as well as contributing to team and community events.

Prior experience with a Communications and/or Commercial team is considered an asset.

As ECEI Executive Assistant, you will:
  • Be responsible for extensive calendar scheduling.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
  • Manage multiparty communications.
  • Manage budgets.
  • Manage safety training tracking.
  • Event plan and execute.
  • Be responsible for your personal safety and that of coworkers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • You will also be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

What skills will make you successful?

  • You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:
  • A minimum of Grade XII with five to ten years of experience in business or administrative roles, preferably in a corporate environment, is required. Post-secondary education in Office Administration or Business is preferred.
  • A relationshipbuilder, the incumbent possesses excellent interpersonal skills and is a strong, confident, and capable communicator. They will work very closely with EAs throughout NS Power and Emera. Strong organizational and practice management skills are important. High ethical standards are a must. The Executive Assistant understands the importance of being discreet and maintaining confidentiality.
  • The Executive Assistant role is an integral part of the teams of the executives they assist and, as such, the incumbent must be an enthusiastic team player and demonstrate maturity, confidence, and decisionmaking capability. Overall, the Executive Assistant works with a minimum of supervision and excels in all aspects of the administrative support role.
