Description

Altex Industries, a specialist in the engineering design, fabrication, and repair of heat exchangers, in accordance with ASME section VIII, API, TEMA and Provincial Safety Regulations, has upcoming openings for a QC Examiner for a field project located in Alberta.

Minimum 2 years' experience in visual inspection of pressure vessels. Certification to CWB W147.2 Level 1 or 2 and previous experience with heat exchangers would be an asset.
A comprehensive understanding of welding processes and their associated defects when applied to the welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and various alloys.
Experience with Alternative Test Methods (Closure Welds).
Familiarity with Alberta Safety Codes, ASME section II, VIII1, and IX. Knowledge of API codes that relate to heat exchangers.
Knowledge of the NDE methods, PT, MT, UT, RT.
High attention to detail and a desire to maintain a high standard of quality.
Previous experience in the preparation of detailed Inspection Test plans/Travel sheets for new construction and repairs of ASME Section I and VIII1 vessels.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

In addition, preference will be given to individuals that possess one of the following certifications.

CSA W178.2 Level 2 or
API 510/570/1169
