Position Summary

Position:
Permanent Part Time

  • Average of 28 hours per week on a rotating schedule

Compensation:
$ per hour


Indirect Compensation

  • Extended Health and Dental benefits after the 3 month probationary period
  • 3 weeks vacation pay which increases with length of service
  • 1 paid wellness day per year
  • Paid sick time which increases with length of service.
  • Professional development & education reimbursement opportunities

Qualifications

_Education and experience_

  • Minimum diploma in Community Social Services or care aid certificate
  • Recent, related experience of two years or
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience or
  • Other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.

_ Job skills and abilities_

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Physically able to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to work in collaboration with others
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
  • Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to handle conflict
  • Ability to utilize own vehicle with mileage compensation if required

_ Other Requirements_

  • Criminal Record Search in accordance with agency policy
  • Ability to provide proof of COVID19 vaccination
  • Valid BC driver's license and use of a reliable vehicle
