Responsibilities

Carry out Fire Assay procedures i.e. fluxing, fusing and cupelling samples as per written procedures
Mix dry chemicals, load trays into a furnace (working in a hot environment) and pour samples
Complete required documentation and logs
Follow QC procedures accurately and safely
Maintain a clean work environment
Organize waste disposal
Strict adherence with the company's Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies
Any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the department manager or supervisor

Requirements:

High School Diploma
Experience in Fire Assay is not required, but can be an asset. On the job training is provided.
Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English
Read, understand, follow work instructions and guidelines accurately and safely
Exhibit excellent interpersonal and computer skills
Ability to problem solve, multitask, meet deadline and perform in a fastpaced work environment to achieve turnaround requirement
Proven time management skills, quality driven and attention to detail
Reliable, organized and proactive
Ability to work well as a team member and independently
Excellent eyehand coordination and manual dexterity to perform tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, clean shaven in order to safely wear PPE
Rotating shift and extended hours may be required
