  • The Friends_ is recruiting Independent Living Assistants (I.L.A.) in the Parry Sound area. If you are looking for meaningful work to make a difference in the lives of others, give us a call. We provide comprehensive training, support and an inclusive team environment. I.L.A.'s provide service to individuals with physical disabilities and/or seniors by supporting them with personal care, activities of daily living and encouraging/facilitating client ability to live independently.


  • The Friends_ provide community support through a variety of programs. As an I.L.A. you will work with a diverse group of clients allowing you to develop a broad range of skills in your career development. Whether you work onsite in our housing program or visit individual client homes in the community, educational opportunities and a comprehensive on the job training program with our dedicated team will contribute to your success. Qualifications:

- interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home with health care needs
- background/training in health related field is an asset but not necessary
- understanding of and commitment to independent living and client right to direct their own care
- excellent physical strength and stamina
- ability to work with direction and independently
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
- reliable vehicle

All staff are provided Personal Protective Equipment if necessary.

$22.00-$25.00 per hour
