Reporting to Legal Counsel and Commercial Legal Counsel, you will assist the Legal team in providing high quality and timely legal advice and services including, conducting legal research in new and dynamic areas of law, reviewing of a range of contracts and the administration of Operating Agreements with current and prospective igaming operators.

What can I expect to do in this role?
Supporting the Legal and Governance function, you will have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memorandums on various areas of law, including but not limited to gaming and administrative law, insurance, privacy and other emerging areas of interest relating to internet gaming.
  • Liaise with Commercial Legal Counsel to review infringement cases, develop appropriate strategies and track deadlines for legal actions.
  • Assist with preparing summaries of material agreements and documents.
  • Provide general support to the Legal & Governance team.
How do I qualify?

  • Currently a first year student of an accredited LLB or JD program.
  • Interested in the gaming industry.
  • Knowledge and insight into emerging technologies and online business practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detailoriented, and accurate.
  • Passion for learning and taking on new challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and work both independently and as part of a team.

You must meet all eligibility criteria by the first day of employment:

Student Status:

Open to all law students in the first year at a Canadian law school.

Work Environment:

You must be living in the province of Ontario during the term of employment and you are required to work in office 3 days a week.
