JOB OVERVIEW- The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is seeking an
Enterprise
Infrastructure Specialist responsible for installing, configuring, administering, and documenting all network, telecom, and server components within the Canadian Cancer Society environment. This position requires advanced knowledge of Network Design, Implementation, technologies and network administration, Server-Level Architectures, System administration, and a strong knowledge and expertise in IT Security. This individual will be leading projects related to network, servers, also administration of servers and IT infrastructure, and will be providing hands-on technical guidance ensuring the availability of all systems for the business.


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- _ Monitors_ and analyzes network performance on LANs, Voice, WANs, and wireless deployments running in the distribution data centers, Offices, and Azure Cloud._

  • Administrating, maintaining, and upgrading Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, Print Servers, etc.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting servers, including Windows and Linux servers, virtualization technologies, and storage systems
  • Managing and configuring network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Implementing and maintaining advanced security measures, such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and VPNs
  • Managing and monitoring backups and disaster recovery procedures
  • Plans and implements any improvements, modifications, or replacement of network and infrastructure components.
  • Installs and configures all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, access points, UPS, etc.
  • Ensures network connectivity of all workstations, phones, and backend office infrastructure.
  • Participate in serverrelated projects, with regard to hardware, OS, services, network, domain and server configurations.
  • Assists with budgeting and cost estimation for network/system/security hardware and software procurement.
  • Research new network products and services in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Provide afterhour'weekend'holiday support to maintain CCS services when needed.
  • Develops and maintains policies using standard operating procedure documents to provide instructions and escalation templates for staff when needed.
  • Facilitate conduct regular security vulnerability scans to ensure the network is protected and work with desktop teams to patch resources.
  • Uses industrystandard practices to ensure company servers are firewalled, zoned and secured.
  • Takes initiative in regularly reviewing the state of the network and looks for opportunities to streamline the infrastructure.
  • Performs Daily monitoring of Network and infrastructure server logs and network security tools
  • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the Manager, Enterprise Infrastructure
  • Maintain Active Directory secure, and up to date.
  • Upgrade Domain controllers and other Active Directory services.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science/IT
  • Minimum 57 years of handson work experience in network and system administration
  • 5 years of handson work experience in Hybrid cloud environments
  • Minimum 5 years of handson work experience in Windows Operating Systems, AD, DC, DHCP.
  • Certifications in Cisco, Fortinet, and Azure would be considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security, network security, and virtual networks.
  • Understanding of voice over IP.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and change management processes
  • Extensive handson technical knowledge of network protocols and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, MPLS, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, T1, 802.11x, QoS, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of network management and monitoring.
  • Working knowledge of network hardware, particularly the Meraki product line, switches, and firewalls.
  • Handson experience and knowledge of virtual network components.
