Description

Preference will be given to those coming from manufacturing of agricultural or other large mobile type of equipment. Must be well-versed in the purchasing of parts and be comfortable reading related blueprints.

Key Function:

Direct and manage all Buyers within the department
Provide continual mentorship to all Buyers
Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies to optimize procurement processes.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and terms
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements
Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure timely procurement of materials
Implement and maintain an effective MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system
Source and procure materials, equipment, and services needed for production or operations
Manage vendor relationships and conduct regular performance evaluations
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and new product developments
Oversee the entire purchasing process from requisition to payment

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Purchasing management role
Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures
Familiarity with MRP systems and other purchasing software
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing
Solid understanding of supply chain management concepts
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor management
Detailoriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
