About the Position
Reporting to the Construction Manager and the Senior Project Manager, Western Canada, the site superintendent is a key member of the Construction team, who oversees the construction process and is responsible for overall construction activities within the established design, budget, and scheduling guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daytoday operations of the project to ensure that the project meets its key performance indicators for Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost.
- Lead and implement all aspects of the Carrington Construction Health and Safety program on site, ensuring that the requirements of the OH&S Acts are enforced
- Provide input on the overall project plan and construction schedule providing input on project site setup, project logistics, construction methods, sequencing, and resources requirements for the execution of the project plan.
- Assist in the development and identification of project specific risks and collaborate in the development of response strategies for identified risks.
- Key collaborator in the development of sitespecific safety plan and emergency response plan, and responsible for the control and monitoring of these plans in the field.
- Responsible to review project drawings and specifications to identify areas of risk or conflict.
- Contribute to the development of the project quality plan.
- Ensure correct cost coding for material and equipment purchasing.
- Strategically schedule and supervise the activities of subcontractors, suppliers and site staff
- Lead and manage resources and site staff to maximize productivity
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Completed postsecondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction technology or related academic field of study comparable to Canadian academic standards preferred.
- Trade ticket relevant to the construction industry.
- Gold Seal Certificate by Canadian Construction Association preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the multifamily residential construction industry, including supervisory, management or leadership roles is required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents, and interpret building code specifications required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced understating of construction means, materials and methods for multifamily construction.
- Understanding of construction equipment use, maintenance and operation required.
- Comprehensive understanding of local, provincial, and federal construction regulations required.
- A valid class five (5) driver's license is required
