Description

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club was founded in Toronto in 1852 to serve both as a yachting recreational club and an unofficial auxiliary of the Royal Navy in the defense of the waters of Lake Ontario.

We are one of Canada's premier sailing and social clubs, with an emphasis on family participation, the development of our junior sailors, and a Corinthian attitude towards excellence in sailing.

The RCYC operates year-round from two facilities: our summer home at the Island Clubhouse and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto.

With over 4700 Members we have extensive services in Food and Beverage along with Fitness, Sports and Sailing facilities.

Job Duties

  • Welcome and serve members and their guests
  • Ensure cleanliness serving stations and dinning area including; china, cutlery and glassware
  • Communicate with team members, including kitchen and bar staff, at all times with updates or any details for events
  • Setup and take down of Dining areas or event spaces
  • Ensure all leftover food/beverage is discarded or placed in designated areas
  • Adhere to standards, policies and procedures set by the Club and Management (i.e. Uniforms, cell phones, dress code, etc.)
  • Responsible for the upkeep of Food and Beverage storage areas, restocking and

Requirements:


  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Energetic and flexible, able to work well under pressure
  • Previous customer service experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of sailing is not mandatory, but considered an asset

Hours of Work

  • Food Service is open from 8am to 11pm daily with some exceptions
  • Seasonal position (May-August), fulltime hours
  • Able to work shifts (day/afternoons/evenings including weekends)
