What You'll Do
Gyptech is seeking a
Fabrication Lead Hand to lead and coordinate the fabrication and welding activities within our manufacturing facility


Your role will involve:

  • Plan and prioritize fabrication and welding projects to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication and welding requirements
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of fabricated components and welded assemblies.
  • Monitor welding parameters and techniques to ensure quality and compliance with CWB and internal welding procedures, codes and standards are met
  • Conduct visual and nondestructive testing (NDT) of welds to verify compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazardous conditions
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations as required.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to team members during fabrication and welding operations, troubleshooting problems and optimizing processes
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, professionalism, and open communication among team members
This position is based out of our manufacturing facility in Oakville. The hours of work are Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm with some overtime required.


What You Offer

  • Minimum 35 years' experience in a custom machinery assembly/fabrication setting. Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) or related qualification would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control and other techniques to maximize effective assembly of project builds and orders
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Experience with Infor Syteline ERP is an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
