Technical Services Supervisor (Residential) - LaCité residential complex

Permanent full-time position located in Montreal


The goal of Oxford Properties Group's multi-residential property management is to provide a unique and industry-differentiated customer experience through the relentless pursuit of unparalleled customer satisfaction, innovation in marketing, leasing, staff professionalism, use of technology and property operations.

The Technical Services supervisor is an important position in the smooth running of a large residential complex, located in the McGill Ghetto / Plateau area of Montreal.

This person is responsible for the turnover work planning and general maintenance of the property.

This includes scoping turnover and occupied apartments, managing work orders, Capital expenditure and regular R&M expense control, maintaining relationships with contractors.

The Technical Services Supervisor must have a service-oriented approach, be able to respect tight timelines, have excellent communication skills and accept flexible work schedules, including month-end requirements (working - 4 weekends per year).

A positive attitude in a learning environment is essential, and participation in training workshops/seminars and business improvement will be required to ensure continuous improvement of the position.


Management and administration:

Inspect all move-out apartments and establish work and renovations to be done according to company procedures and standards - respecting budget guidelines and restrictions
Supervision of the work order process and regular follow-up with tenants.
Manage and establish work schedules to achieve rent readiness as per established timelines


Inventory management:
Tenders, orders, delivery follow-up.
Keep an expert eye on curb appeal and cleanliness. Regular quality control on all repairs and maintenance work.
Liaise with and provide support to Oxford's technical services team.


Manage a unionized team of around 15 people: heavy duty and light duty cleaners
Oversee onboarding and training of new staff and assist with HR matters
Ensure compliance with regular fire and life safety standards and health & safety procedures and protocols


Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant experience, 1-2 years people management (unionized or non-unionized employees)
Post-secondary education
Industry experiences an asset (Residential)
Project management experience an asset

The ability to handle volume and stress and to work with a flexible schedule that could exceptionally include evenings, weekends and holidays.

A passion for excellence in customer service.
The ability to resolve resident issues in a timely and professional manner.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent internal and external customer service, organizational and communication skills.


Proficiency in data entry and use of MS Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook.
