Summary


The Journeyman Refrigeration Technician under the direction of Mechanical Director, will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repairs associated refrigeration devices, systems and equipment of TechCanada.

He or she will work using safe work practices, always being aware of personal and client safety.

The Journeyman Refrigeration Technician will be required to demonstrate written and verbal communication through the creation of work documents, and through providing explanations and training to others on the safe use of related equipment.

Job Duties

  • Reads, interprets, and executes drawings, schematics, blueprints, and responsible for installation, repair, overhaul, and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning system and their components parts.
  • Review Blueprints and building codes and specifications to determined work details and procedures
  • Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning system and components
  • Assist with design of multi head VRF systems design
  • Make detailed material list from drawings and site lay out
  • Start and commission systems, test lines to detect leaks, and record the readings
  • Direct apprentice on the installation of piping systems
  • Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports
  • When there is a Malfunction, diagnose the problem and fix the unit by replacing or repairing controls, electric wiring or other parts
  • Complies with standards and procedures of industry, Safety Manual, and abide by safety rules.

Requirements:


  • Must be certified Refrigeration technician
  • Must have experience with VRF systems
  • Must be able to read diagrams, and blueprints
  • Must possess communication skills, selfsupervision, and respect for safety needs
  • Must possess team spirit, and be able to work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering, and out of doors services
  • Must be willing to work closely and lead 14 yr apprentice
  • Must be ready to do overtime work if the need arises
  • Must have a versatile work schedule shift work
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must have valid category five drivers' license
  • Must be flexible to work outoftown when required
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allows one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

Work Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steeltoed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Hazards associated with the trade.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.

Job Types:

Salary:
$40.00-$42.00 per hour

Education:

  • Industrial Refrigeration/

HVAC:
2 years (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • Class 5 Drivers Licence (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (preferred)
