At Ferguslea, the Maintenance Experience Representative (MER) plays an integral role in working as a

liaison between residents and the Maintenance staff.

Their main duties are to organize service requests on behalf of the maintenance department, schedules and manage maintenance service, and coordinate with other departments to ensure that the residents of Accora Village are getting their needs met in accordance with the Accora Village customer service promise.

This is a full-time, permanent position.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The MER will play an actively role in supporting our residents and maintenance department by:

  • Working with our Resident Experience Managers and other staff to follow up on requests from residents for repairs or service
  • Receiving and processing maintenance requests from residents and all departments and initiating notices of entry as needed.
  • Initiating work orders and purchase orders
  • Scheduling staff or contractors to perform the work
  • Keeping track to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
  • Responding to concerns from residents in a timely manner
  • Providing written documentation on any complaints and action taken
  • Advising management of any situations where additional intervention or legal action may be required
  • Recording and allocating work orders to appropriate accounts
  • Ensuring work is completed and scheduling followup as needed
  • Performing regular key audits and reviewing contractor key logs
  • Recording and relaying pertinent information for reference
  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive building and unit maintenance history
  • Coordinating simple accessibility accommodations for residents
  • Advising and notifying residents as needed by preparing notices of entry, fire alarm testing, and service shutdowns
  • Preparing reports, and maintenance histories as requested
  • Analyzing and investigating trends
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisors or Maintenance Manager

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in working with the public
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent oral & written skills in English
  • While not required, proficiency in both verbal & written French would be considered a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Evening and weekend scheduling will be required

  • As a condition of employment, must have a valid Criminal Background Check.
  • Good analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Organized, detailoriented with good customer service sense.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Extended periods at a computer may be required at times
