Listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, Russel Metals is one of the largest metals distribution and processing companies in North America servicing customers primarily in Canada and the United States.

The company conducts business in three metals distribution segments:
metals service centers, energy products and steel distributors.


We are currently seeking a highly motivated and results oriented individual for the position of
Credit Analyst (Contract) in our
Mississauga (Ontario Regional Office) location.


This is a one (1) year contract.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain key account relationships in support of company goals, credit policies and sales objectives
  • Ensure established unit budgets are met to create/maintain positive cash flow and protect organization asset base
  • Review credit limit/terms within level of authority by ensuring proper research and analysis is performed and provide detailed business intelligence in support of major line increases for the Regional Credit Manager
  • Promote and contribute to the success of partnership between all departments through continuous communication
  • Develop rapport and strengthen relationships with customers. Address claims and disputes resolution quickly and effectively
  • Ensure that credit services are provided in a highly professional, productive and efficient manner
  • Minimize bad debt by identifying and managing customer portfolios
  • Contribute to the profitability of the region by ensuring continuous cashflow by converting receivables into cash
  • Responsible for day to day collections, account file reviews, releasing of credit held orders and recommendations of credit worthiness.

Job Requirements:


  • Minimum three (3) years Credit & Collections experience
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical, time management, organizational and decisionmaking skills
  • Honest and team oriented, active at cultivating business & workplace relationships
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office suite
  • Previous experience working with confidential information
  • Attention to detail.

Preferable:


  • Postsecondary education in the field of Finance or Business Administration
  • CCP designation or enrollment in CCP program with the Credit Institute of Canada preferred
