Grader Operator
Lacombe County is currently recruiting for a qualified
Grader Operator (Division 6) to join the Operations - Maintenance department.

The Grader Operator is responsible for operating the grader in a safe manner and ensuring the roadways are accessible and in good condition for the residents and visitors of Lacombe County.

This position is based out of the Rainy Creek Remote Shop.

Anticipated start date:

January 16, 2023.

Key Responsibilities

Technical

Maintain gravel roads and rightofways in a safe and logical order to maximize efficiency.
Perform snow removal on paved and gravel roads (clear the roadways).
Assist with the graveling program as it relates to the roads within the division.
Perform daily and routine safety and maintenance checks of the equipment to maximize the life of the machine (pre and post trip inspections).

Key Qualifications

Previous grader operator experience in the maintenance or construction of roads is preferred. Must

possess, and be able to maintain, a valid class 5 Alberta driver's license. A Class 3 or 1 is an asset.

Possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Able to perform light maintenance/servicing of the equipment.
Possess strong sensory skills, including the ability to exercise judgment based on equipment weight,

balance, speed and depth perception.

Must be able to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, including heavy lifting. Must be comfortable plowing snow in all weather conditions.
Must have a proven ability to interact with others in a calm, courteous and respectful manner.
