Flexible Learning Financial Officer:
Registrarial Services is a central unit responsible for a wide range of administrative oversight and functions, including registration, tuition and fees, exams, convocation, programs, Catalogue, class build, faculty actions, grades, room scheduling, and the flexible learning system.
Primary Purpose:
This position will support Registrarial Services, providing assistance for the flexible learning systems (Destiny One and Oasis). They may also be called upon to assist with administrative duties for other units within Registrarial Services.
Nature of Work:
Reporting to the Associate Registrar (Academic), the main duty will comprise financial maintenance of flexible learning processes, classes and events, maintaining accounts receivable, building continuing education classes, micro-credentials & conferences, and in overseeing financial aspects of flexible learning.
Using the flexible learning software system (Destiny 1), the incumbent will work with the Sr Coordinator regarding policies and procedures and in their interpretation.
They will also assist the Sr Coordinator in identifying future needs of the unit; modifying procedures and initiating appropriate courses of action to resolve complex financial and registration processes; compiling data and preparing reports; and other duties as assigned.
Typical Duties or Accountabilities:
- Sustain the financial data integrity of Destiny 1 and flexible Learning processes
- Maintain accounts receivable for flexible Learning activities
- Maintain daily and weekly operational financial reconciliations
- Submit manual copies of the T4A and T2202 tax forms through the CRA portal
- Collaborate with internal service providers and units to assist in registration and financial accountability for flexible learning events
- Support the efficiency of university operations by responding promptly and thoroughly to requests for information on event registration and flexible learning activities
- Support the academic mission of the University by effectively and efficiently managing flexible learning activities
- Develop solid working and collaborative relationships with academic and administrative units across campus
- Collaborate with Risk Management to minimize potential risk in relation to specific requests for an event.
- Assist with building flexible learning events on campus ensuring that all rules, regulations and sound space management practices are exercised
- Establish and/or enhance operational business practices and procedures in Registrarial Services and in collaboration with campus partnerships to ensure the efficient registration of flexible learning
- Communicate and coordinate aspects of flexible learning and other priority tasks within Registrarial Services as required
- Develop expertise in Destiny One to facilitate the Registrarial support model
- Assist with HR processes upon request
- Other duties as assigned
Education:
Completion of a university degree or accounting diploma. An accounting background would be an asset. Knowledge and understanding of events management, flexible learning, and maintaining data integrity are an advantage.
Experience:
At least two years of financial experience, preferably in a university setting. Knowledge of flexible learning or Destiny 1 would be an asset.

Salary:
The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $49, ,033.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
