Indirect and Stockroom Purchasing Manager - Strathroy, Canada - Meridian Lightweight Technologies

Meridian is an automotive company and the world leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of high-quality magnesium and aluminum die cast components.
Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Global Supply Chain, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the material flow management systems in each Meridian facility to meet production requirements and establish on-going improvement plans for inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective implementation of the Supply Chain strategy, provide leadership to a diverse team including setting objectives, coaching, and managing performance, implementing and adherence of corporate policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the collection, reporting, analyzing of Raw Material, Work in Process & Finished Goods data of all Meridian facilities.
- Ensure consistent logic is applied for the production planning of all Meridian facilities.
- Confirm monthly physical inventories performed at each Meridian facility adhere to internal procedure, identify issues & reconciliation of variances.
- Review the selection and competitiveness of carriers for transportation.
- Coordination of monthly meetings with all Regional Supply Chain Managers including meeting minutes
- Preparation of related monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
- Monitor assigned operations and recommend improvements/and or modifications.
- Support in the annual budget process
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership group.
Skills/Experience/Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in supply chain, preferably within an automotive manufacturing environment
- SCMP designation or equivalent preferred
- Microsoft Office Professional
