Position Description:


Reporting to the Site Leader, the
Care Manager/Clinical Lead, practicing under the College and Association of Registered Nurses professional regulations and Standards of Practice, ensures resident centered care is provided in an individualized meaningful way and includes family involvement.

The main accountabilities of the position are managing day-to-day delivery of care for long term care residents; providing leadership, supervision and addressing performance management issues with care staff; and providing direct care for residents.

The incumbent in the position fosters and maintains effective relationships with care staff, family physicians, professionals from other disciplines, residents and family members.

With the support of the Site Leader, the Clinical Lead has a key role in creating an enriching environment where people find meaningful opportunity to live, work and volunteer.

The Clinical Lead acts as a role model and ambassador for the mission and values of LeeCaring Communities.


This is a permanent out of scope Full-Time Position.

Formal Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in health care desirable.
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • Certificates in Geriatric Care/Gerontology, Mental Health and Palliative Care are desirable.
  • Current and ongoing registration with College and Association of Registered Nurses in Alberta.

Experience:


  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a healthrelated environment including supervision of professional and unregulated care staff.
  • Experience in care of the elderly and dementia care.
  • Clinical experience in an acute health care environment desirable.

Special Knowledge/Skills:


  • Current knowledge of trends and changes in the industry.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of MDS/RAI; eMAR and PCC.
  • Ability to use excellent professional judgement and to act as a mentor and role model to all care staff.
  • Exhibits strong knowledge and skill in seniors, healthcare or relevant speciality.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for leadership and progression in career.
  • Provides evidence of professional development.
  • Exhibits excellent leadership, communication (verbal and written) and analytical skills.
  • Works within the Mission and Values of the Foundation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain interdisciplinary relationships.
  • Exhibits strong problemsolving, critical thinking and customer service skills.
  • Exhibits ability to provide coaching and possesses conflict management skills. Flexible and open to change.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize multiple work demands.
  • Computer skills.

All employees are required to submit a criminal record check that includes a Vulnerable Sector check.

Hours of work:
Monday - Friday H


Members of the Management Team are required to be on call one weekend out of seven.

$92,439.67-$117,157.68 per year
