Operations


Job Summary:
Participation and attendance in the Plant Emergency Response Team (PERT) and company-directed training is a requirement of the job.


Job Description:


What you'll do:

  • Actively supports and participates in all Environment, Health and Safety initiatives and activities.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task.
  • Identify hazards and/or incidents and communicate findings using established procedures.
  • Achieve and maintain competency in all operator functions of assigned production area, including process monitoring and control.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance on projects such as TA preparation.
Complete computer-based learning modules and assigned training on time. Achieve and maintain competency in all Ammonia Operations functions. Responsible for proper daily housekeeping in respective work area(s)


Required Skills:


  • Must have a commitment to safety as the embodiment of corporate culture, responsibility and accountability.
  • Must have completed a minimum of a Grade 12 education or equivalent including Math, Physics, Chemistry, and English.
  • Must possess a 4th Class Stationary Engineering Certificate.
A graduate from the Chemical Production & Engineering Technology (CPET) program from Lambton College or relevant experience will be considered an asset. Must progress to top-level status according to the Ammonia Proficiency Progression Program (PPP). Must be willing to work overtime - nights and weekends included - as required to ensure staffing levels are met for safe operations of the plant. Must be able to read and understand P&IDs. You must be knowledgeable in the use of various tools and equipment and have excellent problem-solving skills Effectively communicates with an ability to compose written documents and interact effectively with peers and supervisors. Must complete and pass all pre-employment testing. Must have a valid driver's license.
