Operating from our Stittsville-Kanata ReStore location.

Primary Functions:

Responsible for efficient pick up and transport of donated materials for Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa ReStores. ReStore is a social enterprise where donated materials are resold to the public. Funds raised support Habitat for Humanity's work in our community. Donated materials include appliances, furniture, kitchens, and more.

Reports to:
Donations Supervisor, ReStore Manager

Responsibilities:

Pick up donations in a timely manner. Ensure donations are loaded, transported, and unloaded safely and efficiently.
Load and unload donated materials. This position requires heavy lifting.
Drive ReStore Van to transport donations and transfer material between our Ottawa ReStore locations.
Accompany ReStore Truck Drivers as passenger to assist on pickups scheduled for our full sized truck.
Provide friendly service to ReStore donors.
Assess the acceptability of materials according to guidelines.
Act as a positive representative of Habitat for Humanity and ReStore in our community.
Log donated material and record donor information for tracking purposes.
Communicate and cooperate with Management, ReStore Staff, and Volunteers at multiple locations.
Ensure vehicles are kept clean and in safe operating condition.
Ensure Health and Safety standards are strictly followed.
Other duties as required.

A criminal record check and driver's abstract are required for this position._

Skills and Qualifications:

Works well with others
Good communication skills
Professional driving experience
Minimum class G valid license
Must be at least 25 years of age for insurance purposes
Ability to lift repetitively throughout the day
Safe driving skills and road safety knowledge
Clean driving abstract

Offers for this position are conditional pending approval by our Insurer.

Starting Salary:
$16.50 Hourly
