Description

Purpose:

Volunteers provide assistance in the ReStore with greeting, merchandising, light upkeep, heavy upkeep, prep, receiving donations, metal recycling and assisting our drivers with picking up and transporting donated items across the city.

This support allows Habitat Greater Ottawa to raise funds to cover the affiliate's operational costs and build homes in the community.

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours every week

Hours for ReStore Stittsville (3 Iber Road, Unit 2):

  • Monday
  • Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Position Duties:

  • Sorting, counting, folding and organizing clothing donations received
  • Merchandising the racks of clothing and sorting by size, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working in retail is an asset but not mandatory
  • Ability to work with a team and independently
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers

Important to Note:
Volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Individuals who are 16-17 years of age require a waiver signed by a parent and/or guardian.

Volunteer Orientation and Safety Training is mandatory for new volunteers. All ReStore volunteers must provide and wear their own CSA approved steel toe boots.
