- Client Care Representative tasks involve:
- Communicating with clients via telephone, email, or text: Addressing inquiries; Providing appointment reminders and instructions; Following up on previous appointments; and Any other necessary communication.
- Scheduling appointments
- Welcoming clients to the hospital and offering assistance
- Informing clients of wait times and ensuring their comfort
- Notifying the team of appointment arrivals
- Handling admissions and discharges, prescriptions, and sales
- Educating clients on various topics such as vaccinations, lab tests, common diseases, pet behavior, and products
- Managing client files and records
- Preparing estimates, invoices, prescriptions, and instructions
- Reviewing and processing payments
- Providing post-visit information and materials
- Managing cleanliness and organization
- Performing end-of-day procedures
- Other assigned tasks
- Exam Room Assistant responsibilities include:
- Greeting and registering patients
- Escorting clients and patients to examination rooms
- Recording vital information
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations and treatments
- Preparing and dispensing medications
- Managing patient discharges and follow-up
- Providing client education
- Ensuring cleanliness and supply availability
- Maintaining laundry and supplies
- Other assigned tasks
- Surgical & Dental Assistant duties involve: Supporting veterinarians and technologists during procedures; Following detailed task lists for each role; Assisting with patient check-ins, procedures, and aftercare; Preparing equipment and treatment areas; Caring for hospitalized patients as needed; Ensuring cleanliness and organization; Registering microchips; Other assigned tasks
- Inventory responsibilities include: Managing supply lists and orders; Stocking supplies; Other assigned tasks
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class N or 5 BC Drivers' License and driver's abstract
- Demonstrated interest in animal welfare
- Knowledge of animal breeds, diseases, and behaviors
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Excellent customer service
- Ability to manage priorities

About the Role:
Collaborating with veterinarians and the hospital care team, the Veterinary Assistant plays a key role in supporting staff, patients, and clients in various functions as needed. This includes engaging with the public and clients, assisting in patient appointments and surgeries using gentle handling techniques, maintaining records, managing inventory, ensuring cleanliness, and fulfilling other responsibilities to uphold efficient operations and superior care standards.
