    Job Description: Specialist Process Engineer

    Your Role Within the Team:


    1. Perform conceptual and detailed design engineering work for new, updated and modified process systems, structures and components.
    2. Prepare design documents for Nuclear Power Plants, e.g., Design Calculation, Design Requirements, Assessments, Technical Specifications, Drawings, Bill of Materials, and System Code Classification.
    3. Review and/or approve thermohydraulic evaluations on complex systems.
    4. Review and/or approve Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations.
    5. Review and/or approve Engineering packages.
    6. Perform project lead responsibilities by directing a team comprising of professional and technical staff on a variety of tasks in design, development, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning.
    7. Ensure applicable code, standards and regulatory requirements are met.
    8. Ensure adherence to company quality program.
    9. Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.
    10. Mentor and/or organize mentoring of staff to maintain and improve process engineering performance and capabilities.

    The Ideal Candidate:

    • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
    • Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science.
    • A minimum of 12 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets.
    • Experience performing heat balance and thermohydraulic evaluations.
    • Experience in process system design and layout.
    • Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design (e.g. ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA or similar).
    • Working knowledge of/experience with CSA B51 standard, ASME Section III, ASME B31.1 codes.
    • Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards or regulatory guides, including CSA N285.0 is an asset.
    • Must have excellent communication and technical writing skills.
    • Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.
    • Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
    • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
