AlumaSafway is currently recruiting for
Industrial Sand Blasters for our Fort McMurray area sites.

Shift: 7&7, 12-hour days/ currently working 12&2/6&- 2-3 week long shutdown

  • Camp accommodations provided
  • Travel Allowance available based on location

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Abrasive blasting of surfaces of structural steel, vessels/tanks, pipes, external or internal to clients specification.
  • Inspect and operate equipment in a safe manner as per equipment operating manual and AlumaSafway's operating procedures.
  • Operate compressor and sandblast equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 25kg.
  • Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and comply with client and AlumaSafway's safety standards and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 3rd year Apprentices and Journeyman Sandblasters;
  • Abrasive blasting experience is preferred;
  • Experience running a plural component pump is considered an asset;
  • Requires excellent oral and written skills;
  • Requires strong organization and time management skills;
  • Requires close attention to detail;

SAFETY COURSES REQUIRED:


  • OSSA Regional/OSSA BSO/Energy Safety Canada CSO
  • Fall Protection (Energy Safety Canada or ACTI)
  • Confined Space (OSSA, Energy Safety Canada, or ACTI)
  • JLG
  • WHMIS 2015

This is a unionized position.

Salary:
$21.00-$43.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Fort McMurray, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Sandblasting: 2 years (preferred)
