Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Safety, Health and Environmental Co-op student to join our Edmonton Valley Line West team


What You'll Be Doing:

- implementing the Project Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Plans
- developing and maintaining various environmental Registers required for the Project
- monitoring and maintaining updates for amendments to applicable Laws or Environmental Permits; the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management systems; and new policies or standards implemented by the City of Edmonton concerning environmental protection
- critically assessing environmental conditions in the field to evaluate potential environmental impacts from construction
- evaluating potential environmental issues and concerns ahead of construction activities
- compiling and analyzing environmental data for report input
- support the Environmental team with preparing daily and weekly inspection reports
- attending various project meetings as required
- conducting environmental risk assessments
- participating in various construction meetings (e.g., kick-off, too
- conducting environmental sampling
- maintaining environmental equipment as required
- performing work outdoors in all types of weather, and in an office as required
- performing other duties associated with this position as may be required
- compiling/updating project environmental documentation
- review and interpret plans and drawings


What Required Skills You'll Bring:


  • Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in a Sciences or Civil/Environmental Engineering
  • Experience in the construction industry is a strong asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask/ Service orientated.
  • Thrive in a fastpaced environment.
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
